Prostate and sexuality are like two connected vessels and that is why I personally am of course very interested in this topic. The size of the prostate gland, as it is technically called, is very small, but its importance is all the greater. When I speak an prostate problem, I am referring, of course, to the prostate gland in men, not to the prostate gland in women, even though they, too, have it in a certain sense.
The primary function of the prostate gland is the production of prostatic secretion, which affects sperm and fertility in a man. As long as the prostate is functioning, most men are not interested in it and only pain, which may indicate inflammation, a cyst or other problem, will arouse more interest.
An enlarged prostate or other problems can occur even at a young age. However, the important thing is that the prostate and the potency are connected vessels and therefore it is important to know not only where the prostate is located, but also what is the right prevention and care for it.
What is the Prostate
The prostate is a glandular organ that is in close proximity to the bladder, and a spindle-shaped dilated portion of the urethra passes through this entire gland. This is also the answer to the question of where the prostate gland is located and why the problems that are associated with it are also manifested in urination.
- The prostate gland or prostate gland are other names for the prostate gland, and this is mainly because of the structure of its tissue and because of the place of its location
- The prostate is chestnut-shaped, about 4 cm in size, weighs 20 g and grows to normal size by the age of 17, with further enlargement occurring later
- In total, there are up to 50 glands in the prostate, with fluid from them mixing with sperm
The prostate fluid itself is in the form of secretions and is the largest part of the ejaculate by volume. It contains substances that are important for the nourishment and transport of male sex cells, or sperm. Since the prostate is already located just before the beginning of the urethra, the role of these secretions is also to moisten the urethra before the semen is ejected.
As for the whole process of ejaculate formation, even with the contribution of the prostate gland, this is a brief procedure:
- From the testicles, the spermatozoa travel through the seminiferous tubes, from where they reach the upper part of the prostate, where a seminal vesicle duct exits into each seminiferous tube
- The spermatozoa and seminal vesicle fluid then mix together, forming seminal fluid together with secretions from the prostate gland
- This fluid is then transported into the urethra in the final phase during ejaculation and from there it passes out of the body via the penis
Considering this whole process, proper prostate function is essential for achieving maximum possible fertility. If the function of the prostate gland is impaired by a problem such as inflammation, enlargement or tumour, the full production of prostatic fluid cannot take place, which of course affects sperm in particular.
Here is more important information and interesting facts related to the prostate:
- Ejaculation occurs almost 8,000 times in the lifetime of an average man, and a man produces 17 liters of ejaculate, most of which is formed in the prostate gland.
- Thanks to the fluid that forms in the prostate gland, the ejaculate has a gelatinous form and a typical whitish color thanks to a protein
- This protein is called prostate-specific antigen, and it is the presence of this antigen that is used to detect, for example, prostate cancer
Problems Especially in Old Age
Problems with the prostate arise especially with advancing age and with virtually every type of disease or disorder. Older age is a significant risk factor, especially if we are talking about age over 65. But prostate problems can also affect much younger men.
Symptoms Associated With the Prostate and What They May Mean
As I said above, the prostate gland is significantly connected with the bladder and the urinary tract as such. This is the reason why many of the problems and diseases associated with it are related to the signs and symptoms around urination. Also, the prostate and sexuality are also related.
Here are the most important ones that may occur, along with their explanation:
- Pain: The most typical symptom is pain, which can occur both concomitantly with urination and outside of it. If it occurs simultaneously with fevers, it is a manifestation of acute inflammation. If there is also pain in the testicles or during ejaculation, it may be a sign of chronic inflammation. When occurring simultaneously with burning sensations, it is a sign of cancer.
- Burning sensations: in addition to pain during urination, you may also experience burning sensations. These are a common symptom, for example, in malignant prostate cancer, but also in inflammatory diseases. However, it may not necessarily be prostatitis, but also urinary tract inflammation. It can also be a manifestation of urinary stones.
- Frequent urination: too frequent urination is most often caused by inflammation of the prostate gland or some kind of inflammation of the urinary tract, and these two types of inflammation are sometimes combined. However, if frequent urination occurs at the same time as pain or burning, even 7 times a day or more, it may be a symptom of prostate cancer.
- Problem with urinating: If you have trouble getting enough urine, it may be due to an obstruction. Such a symptom mainly points to an enlarged prostate gland, which will cause problems with both the bladder and urinary tract. But whether it is a malignant or benign enlargement will only be confirmed by a doctor.
- Blood in the power: If you experience this symptom, it may be a symptom of prostate cancer or a problem with kidney function. The important thing is how much blood is in the urine. The microscopic amount is not detectable with the naked eye and can only be detected by a laboratory test, so it is more of a confirmation of the diagnosis.
Disorders, Problems and Diseases Associated With the Prostate
The prostate can be affected by several diseases and problems that are already quite well-known in public. The most commonly talked about are prostatitis, prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. I recommend not to underestimate any of these diseases and this is especially true for men over 40 years of age, where they occur most often.
Here are the most common malfunctions and problems with a closer look:
- Acute prostatitis: one of the common inflammations of the prostate is acute prostatitis. This is an acute form of prostatic prostatitis, which is caused by bacterial infection and is characterized by a rapid onset of symptoms, especially fever, pain and difficulty urinating. It is most often treated by the administration of antibiotics, and in extremely severe cases, intravenously with hospitalization.
- Chronic prostatitis: the opposite case is chronic prostatitis, which also arises from a bacterial infection, but runs for a long time and sometimes with less intensity of symptoms. It affects mostly men over 40 years of age, and is most often manifested by pain when urinating or during ejaculation. Treatment must be long-term and includes regimen measures.
- Chronic pelvic pain syndrome: the most common form of prostatitis is non-bacterial prostatitis, which can also be caused by some invasive procedures to the prostate. The course is protracted, the disease can be both inflammatory and non-inflammatory, and the symptoms resemble typical chronic prostatitis. There are alternating periods of improvement and deterioration.
- Benign enlargement of the prostate: According to statistics, benign enlargement of the prostate is the most common disease associated with this organ. The disorder is caused by proliferation of the smooth muscle of the prostate, resulting in accumulation of tissue volume and enlargement of the prostate gland encroaching on the urinary tract. This is also the reason why the disease is associated with symptoms around urination.
- Prostate enlargement can be prevented by adjusting lifestyle and diet, which is certainly good news. If the disease already occurs, there are several groups of drugs that are administered either to alleviate the symptoms or also to shrink the prostate. In the inevitable case, it may be the turn of surgery to remove part or all of the prostate.
- Prostate Cancer: I’ve saved prostate cancer for last, which is one of the most common causes of death in men and one of the most common cancers in general. Men over the age of 65 are the most at risk, but it can occur in younger men as well. The problem is that if it is detected on the basis of symptoms, it is already at an advanced stage, so early diagnosis is important.
- Nevertheless, significant advances have been made in the treatment of prostate cancer in recent years. In addition to radical prostatectomy, less invasive methods such as radiotherapy or hormone therapy are increasingly being used. Advances have also been made in the treatment of more advanced tumours and, ideally, it is possible to prolong a patient’s life by up to 10 years.
The Need for Professional Diagnostics
All of the above mentioned diseases or disorders are subject to professional diagnosis in any case. If you experience the symptoms mentioned at the beginning of this article, see a doctor as soon as possible to rule out or confirm a specific diagnosis related to the prostate gland.
How to Improve and Support the Prostate
We can probably all agree that none of the above diseases or disorders are anything pleasant and are better avoided. That’s why it’s important to keep your prostate in the best possible condition and as naturally as possible.
- When it comes to supporting prostate function, it should be a combination of regime changes, better lifestyle and, if possible, some external preventive support
Understandably, not all problems can be prevented. But by eliminating or minimizing risk factors and keeping the prostate in good condition, you can reduce the risk of developing the most unpleasant ones. After all, this is important not only for your prostate, but also for your fertility, as it is affected by the prostate.
- Promoting the health and normal function of the prostate gland
- Positive effect on the urinary system
- Support libido and reproductive capacity
- Supporting the condition of the hair
Here are the measures I recommend most:
- Improving the diet, especially increasing the intake of fruits, vegetables and legumes, mainly those containing Zinc, Selenium and Vitamin E
- Some foods are not suitable for the prostate, for example, beware of those containing excessive amounts of salt and animal fats, reduce the intake of red meat
- Avoid excessive consumption of irritating foods and beverages, for example, chili and other spicy spices, alcohol and caffeinated beverages
- Regular natural exercise, especially walking and running, should be restricted, on the contrary, bicycles should be limited for the prostate
- There are also proven herbs and plants, such as Serenoa creeper, which can be bought in the form of teas, special urological teas, dried extracts or in the form of dietary supplements, for example
Frequently Asked Questions About the Prostate
In connection with the prostate, men ask several questions, especially in the framework of possible diseases, prevention, and also in the framework of means and preparations that can help to improve its condition. So, I went through several internet forums and discussions to collect the most frequently asked questions about this topic. Here I bring them all in one place with my answers:
- Does a man's lifestyle affect the prostate?
Yes, it certainly does. Fatty and heavy foods are particularly harmful to the prostate, and excessive consumption of red meat, for example, is also a risk factor for the development of tumours. Irritating foods such as chilli are also a problem. You should also limit alcohol and caffeine, especially coffee.
- How often and for whom is a preventive prostate examination necessary?
The risks associated with some prostate diseases or disorders begin to increase significantly in men with age, and in this respect the zone of risk begins around the age of 50. I recommend having a prostate exam at least every 3 years, the prostate and prevention are connected vessels.
- Are there any vitamins or minerals that help the prostate?
Yes, in particular the mineral Zinc, which is known to be very good for improving the functioning of both the prostate and the urinary system. Selenium is also supportive. Getting enough vitamins E and D is also important. Much better than vitamins, however, are some plants.
- Can herbal treatment help the prostate, or is it only medication that is needed?
Natural treatment is a bit of a misnomer, natural prostate support would be better. In that case I definitely say, also from my own experience, that it is possible. But if it has to be a proper treatment of, for example, cancer, forget about herbs there, only professional treatment is needed.
- When is prostate surgery necessary?
Prostate surgery is a radical invasive procedure that is only performed when other treatment options have failed for certain diseases. This is mainly for prostate cancer or enlargement, much less so for inflammation. Surgery is decided by the doctor and is only a last resort.
How Prostate Pills Work and Why I Recommend Them
Supporting prostate health with natural remedies is, in my opinion, as natural as possible. If you add to this appropriate regimen measures and an improved lifestyle, you have real prevention taken care of. I personally prefer pills with a herbal composition.
These pills work very simply:
- On the basis of long-term use, the plant extracts contained in them help the prostate to function properly, and these effects are also complemented by various amino acids and minerals
Most of the time, these pills contain extracts and extracts of plants proven by centuries of experience, so it is not a placebo or quackery. In the composition you can find, for example, Saw Palmetto, Maca, Damiana or Tribulus Terrestris. But always look not only at whether these substances are contained in the pills, but also in what quantity.
Time Needed : 00 days 00 hours 05 minutes
And why do I praise these preparations so much? Because I see three important advantages in them:
- Composition
The first advantage is the composition itself, since the pills with plant extracts and extracts are very natural for the body and for the prostate
- Breadth of the Effect
The second important advantage is the breadth of the effect, since preparations of this type help not only the prostate, but also the urinary tract and indirectly to improve fertility
- Side Effects
The third advantage is the minimum of side effects thanks to the natural composition, so you can forget about all the typical side effects of synthetic tablets
At the same time, however, thanks to the natural composition, you should not expect that these pills will improve your prostate overnight. On the contrary, it takes some time for their effects to manifest themselves, since these are based on reaching a certain level of active substances directly in the body.
How to Optimum Effects?
Since these pills are herbal in nature, the best effectiveness is achieved by regular and daily use. Follow the dosage recommended by the manufacturer and stay with one brand for at least 2 or 3 months. This is enough time to achieve maximum effectiveness.
Pills I’ve Tried and My Experience With Them
There are a number of products on the market to support better functioning and health of the prostate gland. Some understandably work better, others worse. But you should certainly not dismiss all of them at once because of a few negative examples, you should simply choose those pills that have long had the best references from other men.
If you don’t want to waste your time choosing, I can advise you on the brands that have worked best for me based on my own long-term experience. They are not the cheapest ones on the market, but qualitatively they are definitely worth a try:
- Promoting the health and normal function of the prostate gland
- Positive effect on the urinary system
- Support libido and reproductive capacity
- Supporting the condition of the hair
